Safari sends requests to websites just by autocompleting the URL bar to a URL you’ve visited before. Runs the site’s JS, too.
If this is done on purpose (eg to enhance performance) I say it’s a bad idea for privacy reasons. Also creates unnecessary traffic for servers.
