as a counterexample, i was persuaded as a child that brushing my teeth was a good idea and necessary, and then i did so happily and routinely

i think there are some cases where forcing someone to do what they don't want is reasonable and not abuse, such as enforcing a contract they entered willingly and don't want to honor anymore
